Jonathan Trimble, Scotch – Irish descent. Approximately, 5’9” and 160 lbs. Strong but wiry. He was raised in a mixed race middle class neighborhood growing up. He grew up in a mixed race church and was raised to have traditional moral conservative Christian values. Marriage and children was a definite destiny for him growing up. While he gravitated towards Country music, he had a mild appreciation for most music. He always had Black friends in his group of buddies growing up. He was always a loyal friend once someone became his friend, yet he maintained his individuality. His principles were sound the way he saw it and he drew a clear distinction between opinions and principles and stood by the principles that were congruous with his Bible.
As a young kid his parents took him and his younger brother and two sisters to American Celebration parades. He kept a collection of the small flags he got from each event. Jonathan was the oldest of his siblings. He took the big brother role seriously. He felt it was upon him to provide a good model for them, so he was pretty much a good kid except for his passion for cussing. His grandfather taught him and his siblings about the founding fathers and what it truly meant to be an American. He picked his friends based on their integrity, their independent responsibility and their general respect for other people. Trimble, resented the double standard that Blacks could use certain epithets and Whites were prohibited. He generally refrained from using racially offensive expressions except when lashing out in retaliation.
Trimble wanted to join the Marines since he was 10 years old and started taking martial arts classes. By the time he entered the military he had achieved a Black belt in Karate. His mother tried to steer him on another career path because she had lost her brother and her father in two separate military theaters. Young Jonathan however saw their sacrifice as honorable and felt he owed it to them to follow in their footsteps to serve the country. Plus, he was eager to use his Karate in a real life battle. Jonathan’s dad was proud of his son’s commitment yet encouraged him to serve a couple or three terms and get out to raise his family. Jonathan agreed that was a good compromise, but after two terms a bad experience occurred whereby he was almost court martialed and severely afflicted with PTSD and was sent home to be treated.
Once home, he married Guylene whom he had met and was friends with a year before he went into the Marines. Now a civilian, he had four different jobs before went to work as a factory manager where he had been two years before the Burton incident. Trimble had trouble keeping a job as he had bouts of rage when he felt he or his family was being attacked. He started psycho-therapy at the VA as soon as he got out of the military. He took the antidepressants for a couple of years, but he didn’t like being dependent on anything or anybody. He continued therapy, but without the drugs only because Guylene threatened to divorce him because his outbursts of rage were over the top.
Trimble was aware of the atrocities Blacks had suffered from other ignorant Whites and still suffered, but knowing he wasn’t a part of it, he refused to be punished or held accountable for the deeds of others. While he had a healthy respect for Black people, he was not a “bleeding heart liberal”. He felt strongly that Whites who embraced liberal ideology were either acting blindly out of ignorant guilt or they had more sinister plans, that of luring and locking Blacks into dependency and ignorance which would eventually render them the slaves they had once been. Trimble was a card carrying Republican and a regular Tea Party meeting participant. He didn’t like President Obama because of the liberal administration he represented. He was aware that there were many Republicans and Tea Party folk that did not like President Obama because he was Black. Trimble was quick to correct anyone who would listen to the realities of the problem with that President and the impending danger of the liberal ideology and new world order agenda he represented. After all, his Grandfather and his uncles had died for the country and he himself had fought for American Constitutional values, he had watched his Marine brother’s die for America, and he would be damned if President Obama or anybody else was going to destroy it.
